			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p> On a visit to the Smithsonian&#8217;s National Zoo the other day, I came across a couple of references to artificial insemination; pandas are not exactly fecund creatures.  It occurred to me that there must therefore be somebody whose job it is to &#8230; uhh &#8230; collect the male&#8217;s contribution to that process.  <a href="http://www.madsci.org/posts/archives/aug97/869256589.Zo.r.html">Yep, that&#8217;s how it gets done</a>, much of the time at least.  I wonder when that subject gets covered in the better zoology programs?</p>
